JUAN FELIPE PAREDES ✷ (n. 1999, Quito, Ecuador) ACTUALMENTE RADICADO EN EL REINO UNIDO

Curador, escritor, editor y diseñador gráfico/editorial. Su investigación se despliega a través de exposiciones, publicaciones impresas, imágenes, DJ sets y escrituras creativas. Es editorx de recodo press y una de las mitades cofundadorxs de juniin, un espacio galería autogestionado en el centro de Guayaquil, transformado ahora en un dúo curatorial nómada.

Licenciado en Literatura por la Universidad de las Artes en Guayaquil, actualmente integra la cohorte 2026 del programa New Curators en Londres. Hasta 2025 fue curador asistente del Museo Antropológico y de Arte Contemporáneo (MAAC) y co-director artístico del Museo Nahim Isaías.

Paredes ha colaborado con el Ministerio de Cultura y Patrimonio del Ecuador (como curador adjunto de Casa Ecuador en ARCO Madrid y curador de contenidos patrimoniales y artísticos para la Colección Nacional del Ecuador), la Fundación EACHEVE, el Studio Stephano Espinoza Galarza y el Studio ANTIMUNDO de Oscar Santillán. Ha curado exposiciones en galerías y museos en Ecuador (MAAC, juniin, Casa del Barrio, Mediaagua), Estados Unidos (Sapien, Coco Hunday, Mimo), España y Perú (Ginsberg). Sus textos curatoriales han sido publicados en Terremoto (México), FILIA, Paralaje.xyz, Monochrome (Ecuador), Artishock (Chile) y ArtForum (EE.UU.).

Curator, writer, editor, and graphic/editorial designer. Their research unfolds through exhibitions, printed matter, visuals, DJ sets, and creative writing. They are an editor at recodo press and one co-founder half of juniin, a former artist-ran space in downtown Guayaquil turned into a nomad curatorial duo.

Juan Felipe earned his BA in Literature from the Universidad de las Artes in Guayaquil and is currently a Curatorial Fellow of New Curators (London, 2026). Previously, he worked as Assistant Curator at Museo Antropológico y de Arte Contemporáneo (MAAC) and as Artistic Co-Director of Museo Nahim Isaías.

Their past collaborations include work with the Ecuadorian Ministry of Culture and Heritage (adjunct curator for Casa Ecuador at ARCO Madrid, heritage and artistic content curator for the Ecuadorian National Collection), Fundación EACHEVE, studio Stephano Espinoza Galarza, and Oscar Santillán’s studio ANTIMUNDO. Paredes has curated exhibitions in galleries and museums in Ecuador (MAAC, juniin, Casa del Barrio, Mediaagua), United States (Sapien, Coco Hunday, Mimo), Spain and Perú (Ginsberg).
